I have been tagged
It's a sign of how my mind is working that when I read in a comment that I'd been tagged, I started thinking about curfews and Home Secretaries and Liberty going out of its mind.
So thanks to the Wandering Dervish, all Shetai readers can read about 5 things to do in my city. While it's tempting to nominate a city I like for this task (Cambridge, Colombo, Dhaka), I feel obligated to pick 5 things about Luton. (This may take some thinking.)
1. You can play pitch and putt golf at Stockwood Park golf course
2. You can avail yourself of the airport to fly to various European destinations; so far, we've just been to Spain
3. You can visit Bury Park, the home of all the Bangladeshi, Indian and Pakistani shops in Luton and look at garish clothes in the window, buy big cooking pots and marvel at the fact that you can transplant sub-continentals into the UK and they'll still run in front of the car, their only means of not getting run over being the hand they hold up like it's magic or something
4. You can call the police and complain about the abortion protesters who hang around outside the hospital with placards, big crosses and sing hymns at everybody passing
5. You can drive away from here given its convenient proximity to the motorway.
And because those 5 things are not things I will particularly recommend, I will give you five things to do in "my city" of Colombo:
1. Have frozen margaritas at the Paradise Road Gallery Cafe
2. Sit on the patio at Galle Face Hotel and watch the sunset
3. Enjoy seafood on the beach at Beach Wadia restaurant
4. Shop in Odel and pick up some fantastic bargains
5. Dunk your head underwater in the pool at the Swimming Club as a train goes past and feel the vibrations through the water.
Tagging five people seems like a rather difficult task, but here goes:
1. Sunrayz (go out there, do something fun and then tell us about it!)
2. Jag (because he seems like the sort of fella who would make this interesting)
3. Elayne (for when she has a sleepless night)
4. Crash (who is not allowed to name 5 shows to go and watch!)
5. The CrumbLord (in an effort to keep him blogging)
